Are you an 18 year old student who is about to travel to Spain? Congratulations! Before you embark on your journey, there are a few things to do to ensure you have an awesome and stress-free experience! From researching the best places to visit to exchanging your currency, I’m here to provide you with all the information you need to get started on the right foot. So let’s get going and find out what you need to do before you go to Spain!
Research the Language and Cultural Differences:
Before traveling to Spain, it’s important to research the language and cultural differences. Even though English is widely spoken, having at least some knowledge of Spanish will help you navigate the streets and interact with locals. Knowing some common Spanish phrases, slang and body language will also come in handy. To get a better understanding of the culture, I like to read up on the history of the country and local customs. I also make sure to learn about the traditional cuisine and music, so I can join in on the fun!
Learn the Basics of Spanish:
Before traveling to Spain, I think it’s important to at least know the basics of the Spanish language. I’ve started taking online Spanish classes and they’ve been really helpful. It’s nice to be able to understand what people are saying and to be able to communicate with them. Learning the language also helps you to feel more connected to the culture and to the people. It’s also a great way to make friends and build relationships with locals. I’m excited to practice my Spanish when I get to Spain and to see how much I’ve learned!
Pack Appropriately for the Climate:
I’m so excited about my trip to Spain! Before I go, I need to make sure I pack everything I need – and pack appropriately for the climate. Spain has a Mediterranean climate, so I need to pack light clothing like t-shirts, shorts, and sandals. I also need to bring a light jacket for cooler evenings. I should also remember to pack a swimsuit and sunscreen, because I know I’ll be spending a lot of time on the beach!
Understand the Currency and Financial Considerations:
Before I head off to Spain on my adventure, I need to make sure I understand the currency and financial considerations. The currency used in Spain is the Euro. Before I go, I need to make sure I get some Euros from my bank or an ATM. I also need to consider if my debit/credit cards will be accepted in Spain and if I will be able to use them for purchases and withdrawals. I also need to make sure I get a good travel insurance policy with good medical coverage in case I get sick or injured while abroad. This will ensure that I’m taken care of financially if something goes wrong.
Prepare a Travel Itinerary:
Before I travel to Spain, I have to make sure I’m prepared. So, I’ve decided to prepare a travel itinerary. I’ll start by researching the different places I want to visit and things I want to do. I’ll plan out my days and budget according to what sights I want to see and activities I want to do. I’ll also look into transportation options between my destinations, such as buses and trains. Finally, I’ll make sure to book accommodations in advance so I don’t have to worry about it while I’m there. With a travel itinerary in place, I’ll be ready to make the most of my time in Spain!
